DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT ENTEBBE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND RELAXATION IN PREPARATION FOR THE SAFARI

DAY 2: TRAVEL TO GULU WITH ENROUTE RHINO TRACKING AT ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY
Welcome to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will have the opportunity to witness the majestic white rhinos in their natural habitat. These impressive creatures are known for their powerful charges and use of their prized horns for digging and breaking branches.

DAY 3: ROAD EXPEDITION TO KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK AND SOCIAL
INTERACTION WITH THE KARAMAJONG PEOPLE
Enjoy a 4-5 hour journey through Northern Uganda’s savannah and plains before arriving at the park. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to engage with local elders and learn about traditional Karamajong culture through a variety of activities, including observing kraals, grinding stones, and more.

DAY 4: EXPLORATION AND DISCOVERY OF KIDEPO NATIONAL PARK
Game viewing is central to this safari! This will be a great opportunity to encounter herds of buffalos, elephants, Zebras, giraffes and antelopes among other animals of the wild. While big cats tend to be elusive, Kidepo Valley gives better chances to spot lions, leopards and cheetahs going about their hunting business! DAY 5: TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Early morning, prepare to travel to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest national park in Uganda. Home to over 400 species of birds, this park is a must-see for any nature enthusiast. Not only is it home to four members of the “big five” mammals – lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes – but it also boasts breathtaking flat scenic landscapes.

Day 6: EXPLORATION OF MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK WITH AN EARLY GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE TO THE BASE OF MURCHISON FALLS
Welcome to Murchison Falls National Park! Your adventure begins with a game drive in the northern circuit, where you’ll encounter stunning rolling plains and a variety of wildlife, including lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalos, elephants, antelopes, spotted hyenas, wild cats, and leopards.
In the afternoon, you will have a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the breathtaking sight of the Nile as it flows through a narrow 7-meter gap and cascades down to the delta. The roar of the falls is truly a marvel to behold – don’t miss this incredible experience. Your camera should be with you such that you can keep those magical moments!

DAY 7: VISIT TO THE TOP OF THE FALLS AND TRANSFER TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Rise early and test your ability to dare with a thrilling trekking activity to the top of the mighty and ferocious Murchison Falls. The force, sound and speed of the Nile water as it is pushed through a small gap between the rocks is really frightening! If you are not that person who dares, you may not stand close to these falls! Test the person in you and get the thrill of this activity!
After the exploration and experience of the falls, we drive out of the park to embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The road drive to Kibale gives you an opportunity to get an authentic feel of the African country side and specifically Uganda’s country side.
On arrival, you will instantly start enjoying the natural breeze and beauty of the place and its environs. You will be able to see Blue monkeys and Black and White colobus monkeys which occasionally frequent the surrounding areas to your lodge. The various sounds in the forest and nearby thickets from the birds’ calls and animals will make you feel immersed or lost in nature.

DAY 8: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING IN KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK AND TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Welcome to Kibale Forest, where you will have the opportunity to observe chimpanzees, our closest living relatives. With a DNA composition that is 98.7% similar to humans, chimpanzees are known for their intelligence, sociability, and ability to use tools. During your visit, you may see chimpanzees using rocks to crack open nuts, hollowing out water with empty pods, and even using sticks to capture termites from their mounds.
In addition to chimpanzees, Kibale Forest is home to a variety of other primates, including Colobus Monkeys and Mangabey, as well as a diverse array of birds (some of which are rare, threatened, or endemic), butterflies, flowers, and other insects.
After a rewarding visit to Kibale Forest, you will journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will have the chance to take in the breathtaking views of the Rwenzori mountain ranges.

DAY 9: EXPLORATION OF QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK WITH A MORNING GAME DRIVE/LION TRACKING AND AFTERNOON BOAT RIDE ON KAZINGA CHANNEL
Experience the thrill of a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where you may have the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes. While sightings of lions during normal game drives may be limited, we will be specifically tracking these elusive cats to increase the chances of seeing them.
In the afternoon, embark on a two-hour boat ride along the Kazinga channel, where you can observe a range of water-adapted animals including hippos and crocodiles, as well as those that come to the banks to drink.
After the boat ride, you will return to your accommodation for a relaxing evening and overnight stay.

DAY 10: TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

After a leisurely breakfast, you will embark on a scenic drive through the rolling-terraced hills and forests of the South Western region, which will take approximately 3-4 hours.

DAY 11: GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST
Experience an unforgettable encounter with gorillas in their natural habitat during a morning trek through the dense forests of Uganda. Upon reaching the gorillas, you will be given a maximum of one hour to observe and appreciate these peaceful animals in their surroundings.

DAY 13: TRAVEL TO ENTEBBE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR A DEPARTURE FLIGHT WITHENROUTE VISIT TO THE EQUATOR CROSSING LINE
After your awesome time in Uganda, you will embark on your return road trip to Entebbe. This time we traverse the rolling hills and mountains of Kigezi and Ankole region. You will make a brief stop at the equator crossing, take the best photo shots and engage in some of the activities and experiments that people normally engage in when they reach the
equator. The experiments engaged in are not scientifically tested/proved but fun to watch.
These experiments involve pouring water in the basin while observing how it swirls in opposite directions in the northern & southern hemispheres of the equator line.
After this exercise, we will be thinking departure and how to plan another awesome trip with Mukisa Safaris Uganda.
