Begleitet wurden wir von zwei Guides (1 sehr kompetenter Fahrer, gut vernetzt mit allen und Kenner des Landes, sowie seiner Kollegin, die alles darum managte). Hervorheben möchte ich, dass Mukisa Safari auch weiblichen Guides eine Chance auf einen Arbeitsplatz bieten. Das hat uns sehr gefallen und war eine Bereicherung für unsere Reise. Die Tour war außerordentlich gut geplant, wir hatten schöne Unterkünfte und fühlten uns gut aufgehoben bei den Beiden. Sie versuchten auch immer, unsere persönlichen Bedürfnisse zu berücksichtigen. Die Tagesetappen waren angemessen, wir haben unfassbar schöne Tierbegegnungen gehabt und genossen die herrlichen unterschiedlichen Landschaften dieses quirligen Landes. Came across this company almost by accident as I looked extend a Kenyan safari with another tour group. I could not have chosen better. The safaris with Mukisa are private so it was just me and a driver, Solomon, and a guide, Alex. Both were outstanding and really made the trip magic. They were able to make adjustments tailored to the preferences of the guest on the fly, and there were more varied activities than the typical "2 game drive per day" itineraries. The accommodations and food were quite good, but it was the people and the country that made this trip most memorable. The experience was truly uplifting and life changing, and I am lucky to have been in such capable hands. I researched 10 tour companies and I’m so glad I picked Mukisa Safaris. He was incredibly responsive—seriously, I don’t think he sleeps! I had a lot of questions (I mean a lot), and he was endlessly patient and helpful in answering every single one of them. No matter how many details I asked about, Richard was always there with a clear, thoughtful answer and genuine care. As a female solo traveler, I planned and customized a 13-day trip across Uganda and Rwanda, but Richard made the entire process seamless. I wanted a highly customized itinerary, including a visit to an orphanage—and Richard didn’t just help arrange it. He personally visited multiple orphanages himself beforehand to make sure everything was genuine, safe, and aligned with my intentions. He even joined us during the visit to help and support. We had the most incredible time and would highly recommend Uganda as a travel destination and Mukisa Safaris as expert guides. Uganda is absolutely beautiful - rich in its diverse landscapes, abundance of wildlife, and kind, generous, fun people. We had so many truly awesome animal encounters, including gorillas, chimpanzees, rhinos, lions, leopards and all the extra 'normal' African wildlife you expect to see. But no destination can be enjoyed as richly without the expertise and care of an incredible guide and we were so grateful to have an amazing team at Mukisa look after everything to make our journey carefree. They booked beautiful accommodation for us, navigated across the country safely, arranged more than enough food to feed us twice over so we were never hangry!, and most remarkably, showed us true care and connection. Despite the limited time, we managed to experience so much—more than what you'd usually see in two weeks in other countries. Our coordinator, Richard, and driver-guide, John, were incredibly friendly and dedicated to making sure we were happy. Richard helped plan the trip, offered multiple options, adjusted the itinerary to match our preferences, and gave packing tips that proved super helpful. John, on the other hand, was a tireless driver and guide rolled into one. He knows all the animals of the savannah, the best times to head out, and somehow manages to spot wildlife even while driving. We were very pleased with most of our accommodations, there were a couple that had a fair amount of construction going on So many animals! From the moment we arrived at Entebbe airport, we were able to relax and enjoy our adventure. Every day and every activity was meticulously organized and ran smoothly. Alex was brilliant – caring, knowledgeable, and passionate about Uganda and its wildlife. She shared many interesting stories and facts about Uganda and African culture and traditions. We enjoyed spending time with her in the evenings, but she also respected our privacy. Alex made sure we interacted with local people, participated in their activities, visited a local school, and tried local food. Dancing and having fun with indigenous people was a highlight. Our driver, Mande, was also excellent. We felt safe with him behind the wheel, and he always ensured we were comfortable and had the best views of animals and landscapes during our drives and game drives. He made sure we could take great photos without any obstacles. The accommodations improved each day. Staying in camps and hearing the sounds of birds, monkeys, hippos, and other animals was an unforgettable experience, like a symphony of nature. The quality of the rooms and tents was amazing, with comfortable beds and beautiful interiors. The food at every place was delicious – be prepared to eat a lot! Every staff member at each lodge treated us wonderfully; they were kind, smiley, and eager to hear about our adventures. We decided to visit Uganda after watching the documentary "Chimp Empire," which was filmed in Kibale National Park. It fascinated us with ichimpanzees. However, we quickly discovered that Uganda has so much more to offer! We saw all the wild animals up close, feeling like we were in a live National Geographic episode. Observing hundreds of animals eating, feeding their babies, playing, or hunting was incredible. Uganda's beautiful landscapes, safety, rich culture, and kind people made our visit extraordinary. Every forest and safari we visited was breathtaking, and Murchison Falls is a must-see! Chimpanzee and gorilla trekking were the highlights of our trip and truly unforgettable experiences. We never imagined we would be so close to gorillas, even being touched by them and watching them play nearby! The rangers' communication ensures you'll see these magnificent animals, and your safety is their top priority with armed security walking with you. Uganda is a must-see country. In our opinion, while all African countries are impressive, Uganda offers it all. You can see lions, leopards, crocodiles, hippos, beautiful birds, fascinating primates, and stunning landscapes. Choosing Mukisa Safaris was the best decision we made, as they ensured every day of our trip went perfectly! We highly recommend Uganda and Mukisa Safaris.
