Uganda is home to the majestic mountain gorillas, an endangered species that can only be found in a few places worldwide. The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park provide opportunities to encounter these gentle giants up close.
Trekking through dense rainforests, guided by expert trackers, you’ll journey into the gorillas’ natural habitat. Watching a gorilla family interact in their environment is a humbling and magical experience.
Gorilla trekking is available year-round, but the dry seasons (June to September and December to February) are ideal for easier hiking conditions.
A gorilla trekking permit is required and should be booked in advance due to high demand. Comfortable hiking gear and physical readiness are essential for the adventure.
