DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT THE AIRPORT AND TRANSFER TO THE HOTEL
Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be greeted by our dedicated staff who will assist you with transferring to your comfortable and convenient accommodation at Airport Link Guest House in Entebbe town.
DAY 2: TRAVEL TO KAPCHORWA FOR SIPI HIKING AND COMMUNITY WALK
Our team will pick you up from your lodge in the early morning and begin your trip to Kapchorwa. Upon arrival, you will participate in a 3-hour hiking expedition at the breathtaking Sipi Falls, a scenic and physically rejuvenating activity.
If time allows, we invite you to join us for a community walk in the evening, where you can learn about the traditional African lifestyle of the Sebei people and gain a deeper understanding of Ugandan and African culture. This environmentally-conscious tour aims to preserve and respect the natural surroundings and local communities while providing a memorable and enriching experience. You will be staying at the eco-friendly Lacam Lodge for the night.
DAY 3: TRAVEL TO KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK
On the third day of your Safari, we will take you on a journey through the stunning and diverse landscape of North Eastern Uganda, with the goal of reaching the breathtaking Kidepo Valley National Park. This long journey will bring us to the park in the evening, where you will check in at the environmentally-conscious Kidepo Savannah Lodge (safari tent).
Kidepo Valley National Park is known for its stunning panoramic views of the Narus River Valley, and the opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife such as elephants, buffalo, jackals, and more. The park’s landscape of small hills, rocky outcrops, and inselbergs make it one of the wildest and most spectacular reserves in Africa. We are dedicated to providing a sustainable and environmentally-friendly Safari experience while offering you the chance to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.
DAY 4: GAME DRIVE AND CULTURAL EXPERIENCE WITH THE KARAMAJONG PEOPLE
We will spend this day exploring the rich wildlife and culture of Kidepo Valley National Park. Your morning will begin with a game drive in the Narus Valley, where you may spot a variety of animals such as hunting dogs, bat-eared foxes, elephants, buffalo, lions, and more. This is also an excellent opportunity to observe species that are unique to the park, such as cheetahs and striped hyenas.
In the afternoon, you will have the chance to engage in a cultural interaction with the Karamajong people by visiting a homestead. Here, you will meet local elders and have the opportunity to learn about their traditional way of life, including their attachment to their cattle, their traditional clothing and housing, and their grinding stones. The Karamajong are deeply connected to their culture and we are thrilled to offer you this unique and enriching experience. You will be staying at the environmentally-friendly Kidepo Savannah Lodge for the night.
DAY 5: TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
On this day, we will embark on a journey southwards to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park and home to an abundance of wildlife. The park is home to four of the “big five” mammal species – lions, leopards, elephants, and buffalo – as well as a variety of other animals including antelopes, warthogs, giraffes, hyenas, hippos, and crocodiles.
We will begin our journey in the morning and drive through Gulu, the largest town in the North of Uganda, taking in the beautiful flat landscape and enjoying the sights of the Ugandan countryside.
When we arrive at Murchison Falls National Park, you will have the opportunity to stay at Fort Murchison (room), where you can rest and recharge after a day of exploration. We are committed to providing a sustainable and environmentally-conscious Safari experience while offering you the chance to discover the rich wildlife and beauty of Murchison Falls National Park. We hope you have a memorable and enriching stay with us.
DAY 6: GAME DRIVE AND EVENING BOAT CRUISE TO THE BASE OF THE FALLS
Today, you will have the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the natural wonders of Murchison Falls National Park. The park is home to an abundance of wildlife, birds, plant life, and the majestic Nile River, all of which will provide you with beautiful and lasting memories of your Safari experience.
We will start the day with a game drive in the northern circuit of the park, where you may spot the diverse array of animals that call this region home. In the afternoon, you will go on a boat trip to the bottom of Murchison Falls, where you can witness the breathtaking sight of the Nile thundering through a narrow gap and falling 43 meters to create the falls. This is a truly awe-inspiring experience that should not be missed. You will be staying at Fort Murchison for the night.
DAY 7: RHINO TRACKING AT ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY WITH AN OVERNIGHT STAY IN HOIMA TOWN
The day starts with an excursion at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will be able to see white rhinos in their natural setting. You might see the magnificent creatures charging and using their prized horns to destroy branches and dig holes at the refuge.
After tracking the rhinos, we’ll head to Hoima town where you’ll spend the night at the environmentally friendly Hotel Kontiki. After a day of exploring, you may unwind and unwind here while also enjoying a cozy and eco-friendly lodging experience. We want your time with us to be enjoyable and educational.
DAY 8: TRAVEL TO KIBALE FOREST WITH AFTERNOON BIGODI COMMUNITY WALK
Today, you will embark on a journey to the stunning Kibale Forest National Park. The road drive to Kibale will give you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the authentic beauty of the Ugandan countryside.
Upon arrival, you will be able to experience the natural breeze and beauty of the park and its surroundings, including sightings of Blue monkeys and Black and White Colobus monkeys. The various sounds of the forest and nearby thickets, including the calls of birds and animals, will transport you to a world immersed in nature.
In the evening, you will go on a 2-3 hour nature walk in the Bigodi community, where you will have the chance to interact with the local people and learn about their daily socio-economic activities. You will be staying at the comfortable and convenient Kibale Forest Camp for the night.
DAY 9: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING IN KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK AND TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.
Early morning, you will have the chance to encounter the fascinating chimpanzees of Kibale Forest, our closest relatives sharing 98.7% of our DNA composition. These intelligent and sociable primates are known for their use of tools, including rocks for crushing nuts, empty pods for collecting water, and sticks for capturing termites.
Your time in the forest will also provide you with the opportunity to observe a variety of other primates, animals, birds (some rare and endangered), butterflies, flowers, and insects. After a successful tracking experience, you will set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying the breathtaking views of the Rwenzori ranges along the way. You will be staying at the Bush lodge for the night.
DAY 10: EXPLORATION OF QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK WITH A MORNING GAME DRIVE/LION TRACKING AND AFTERNOON BOAT RIDE ON KAZINGA CHANNEL
We start our day with a game drive in the breathtaking Queen Elizabeth National Game Park. This activity will give you the chance to personally encounter the wilderness of the park and observe a variety of animals such as elephants, buffalo, and antelopes. To increase your chances of spotting the elusive lions, we will also include a lion tracking experience during the game drive in the Kasenyi plains.
In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a boat cruise on the stunning Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward to Lake George. The boat ride along the banks will give you the chance to see a wide range of animals such as hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and monitor lizards up close. You may also spot a variety of water birds, such as pelicans and African Fish Eagles. This boat cruise is an excellent opportunity to take breathtaking photos and fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the park.
After a thrilling and memorable day of exploration, you can relax and unwind at The Bush Lodge (Banda) before enjoying dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
DAY 11: TRANSFER TO THE SOUTHERN SECTOR (ISHASHA) IN SEARCH FOR TREE CLIMBING LIONS
On this day, you will have the chance to embark on an exciting early morning search for the elusive tree climbing lions of the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park (Ishasha Sector). These majestic animals are known to rest in the branches of fig trees, cunningly waiting to pounce on their prey. The experience of spotting these lions while they are up in the trees will be truly unforgettable.
After your search, you will have the opportunity to relax and unwind at Topi Lodge for the night.
DAY 12: TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
On this day of your Safari, you will travel to the breathtaking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for the highlight of your trip – gorilla tracking. Bwindi is home to nearly half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world, and your encounter with these magnificent creatures will surely provide you with lasting memories of your Safari experience.
Upon arrival at the lodge, you will have the opportunity to check in and relax in preparation for the exciting activities that await you the following day. You will be staying at the comfortable and convenient Ride 4 A Woman for the night.
DAY 13: GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST
Early morning you will go for gorilla trekking adventure in the beautiful Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This exciting, yet challenging activity involves hiking through steep ascents and tangled trails, but the reward of encountering these gentle giants is truly unforgettable.
For the purpose of conservation, you will be allowed a maximum of one hour in the vicinity of the gorillas before walking out of the dense forest. Your time with the gorillas will create lasting memories and contribute to the sustainability of this precious ecosystem.
After a fulfilling day of exploration, you will return to the comfortable and eco-friendly accommodation at Ride 4 A Woman for rest and relaxation.
DAY 14: TRAVEL TO RWANDA – NORTHERN PROVINCE FOR IBYACU CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
On this day of your Safari, you will leave Uganda and transfer to the beautiful Republic of Rwanda through the Northern Province. This region is known for its breathtaking views, particularly of the Virunga Mountains.
Upon arrival in Ruhengeri, you will be treated to cultural presentations of Ibyacu, where you can meet local people in their natural environment. You will immerse yourself in the culture of the Banyarwanda through local songs and dances. This is a rare chance to truly experience life as a local and learn about the norms and ways of living in this fascinating region.
For the night, you will be staying at Muhabura Hotel.
Day 15: TRAVEL TO KIGALI FOR A CITY TOUR
On this second last day of your Safari, you will have the opportunity to explore the bustling city of Kigali. After a short drive from the Northern Province, you will embark on a city tour that will introduce you to the rich history and cultural heritage of Rwanda.
During the tour, you will visit a variety of sites including the Genocide Memorial, craft centers, and Kandt National Museum. These sites will provide you with a deeper understanding of the social and economic transformation of the country before and after the genocide.
After a day of learning and discovery, you can relax and unwind at the Five to Five Hotel-Remera for the night.
Day 16: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT FOR DEPARTURE FLIGHT
After having spent a peaceful night in Kigali, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight. We recommend a flight that departs before 12:00 pm Rwandan time in order to ensure a smooth and timely end to your safari.
