1. General Information

1.1 Mukisa Safaris Uganda conducts safaris and tour expeditions in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, and the entire East African Region. This service area may extend to other parts of the world depending on the client(s)' request.

1.2 In these Terms and Conditions, “You” or “your(s)” means everyone listed on the booking form, including any person added in the future, while “Company,” “we,” and “us” refers to Mukisa Safaris Uganda.

1.3 You are advised to read these terms and conditions. Your action of booking a tour with us and making any payment to us implies that you have fully read and understood these terms and conditions, and that you are bound by them.

1.4 Sections of these terms may be modified by agreement of both parties, and where this happens, communication shall be made via the company's official emails. In such instance, an express statement shall be made that an override is being made to these terms and conditions.

2. Terms and Conditions Applicability

2.1 These Terms and Conditions shall always be read and taken as forming part of your booking and all itineraries made in relation to your booked tour. They are an essential part of any agreement made/tour booked with us.

3. Communication and Documentation

3.1 All official communication will come from our emails, info@mukisasafarisuganda.com or mukisasafarisuganda@gmail.com, with initial confirmations also sent via WhatsApp (+256754398378).

3.2 Invoices, vouchers, and receipts are issued on company documents, and occasionally with a company seal.

3.3 We are not responsible for losses if the above communication guidelines are not followed.

4. Payment Policy

4.1 All payments shall be made directly to our bank account via transfer, RTGS, online/card, or in cash.

4.2 A 40% deposit confirms your booking, with the balance due 60 days before your safari start date.

4.3 Bookings/tour packages involving gorilla or chimpanzee tracking require an additional upfront payment of the chimpanzee and gorilla permit fees. The chimpanzee permit costs USD250, while the the gorilla permit costs USD800.

4.4 Safaris/tour products booked less than 60 days before the start date require 100% payment.

4.5 All prices are in US Dollars, and payments should ideally be in USD.

4.6 The company reserves the right to increase the price of the tour product booked in instances where the governments or authorities change the associated fees, charges and attendant levies or taxes for conducting the tour product.

4.7 The company reserves the right to refuse a booking or even cancel a booked tour.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

5.1 Cancellation by You

Should you or any party who has booked a tour be forced to cancel, he or she should notify us in writing via email. Charges and refunds depend on the cancellation timing:

  • 60+ days before: 45% charge
  • 45–59 days: 60% charge
  • 31–44 days: 70% charge
  • 0–30 days: 100% charge
  • Refunds are calculated after deducting permit fees, deposits, and any expenses made prior to communication of the cancellation.
  • No refund will be made for any unused services, late arrival or no-show of any members of the tour.

5.2 Cancellation by Us

(a)We will only cancel due to unavoidable circumstances (such as Force Majeure). When this happens we will offer an alternative safari. Where the alternative safari that is chosen is more costly, we will request you to top up.

(b) Where you opt for a refund, we will avail the refund, though subject to deductions for permit fees, deposits, and any expenses made prior to communication of the cancellation.

(c) We regret that we cannot pay any compensation for expenses, costs or losses incurred as a result of the cancellation. We highly recommend that you obtain travel insurance to cover unforeseen cancellations.

6. Your Responsibilities

(a) Ensure you have all necessary documents for your destination. Consult a travel advisor for guidance. The company shall not be bound for any denials of entry or stay in the destinations.

(b) Please notify us of any dietary or medical needs at the time of booking.

(c) Follow all safety guidelines from guides and rangers, and avoid any risky behavior with wildlife. The company shall not be held liable for any injury occasioned while on safari.

(d) Please behave responsibly. We reserve the right to end your safari if your conduct is derogatory to our staff, disrupts others or occasions damage to the environment.

7. Safari/Tour Execution and Liability

(a) Animal Viewing: The company will ensure that your experience is memorable. However, we cannot guarantee animal sightings, as nature presents itself to us differently on each day.

(b) Service Providers: We source service providers with care. However, we do not assume liability for any errors of the independent service providers. These include but are not limited to transporters, restaurant owners and accommodation owners.

(c) Vehicles: Although we ensure that vehicles are roadworthy, we are not liable for delays, breakdowns, or any related damages.

(d) Loss or Damage: We are not responsible for any personal or property loss, damage, or injury. The company advises that you get insurance cover for this.

8. Disclaimer

We aim for accurate information on our website but cannot be responsible for any unintentional errors.

9. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

Disputes will first be addressed through mutual discussion. If unresolved, arbitration in Uganda will follow. Ugandan law governs all agreements/safari packages that are booked with the company.
